Originally trained in systems and microelectronics, most of my career so far has for many reasons been as a jack-of-all-trades programmer. As well as putting bread on the table, the lot of the programmer seems to include enhancing the everyday experience and redressing deficiences in off-the-shelf software on our own computers; we often walk where most users fear to tread.
